Ready to start your DJ journey? Join our Level 1: BASICS DJ Workshop in Peckham!

Whether you’re mixing for fun or taking your first steps toward the booth, this hands-on, 4-week intensive is your perfect entry point. Led by professional international skate DJ & tutor Tendai (aka Petite DJ), you’ll gain the foundational skills to confidently mix and blend tracks while mastering industry-standard gear and software.

Expect a supportive, high-energy environment designed to boost your creative confidence and well-being. This course is perfect for complete beginners or those with a bit of curiosity who want to build a foundation into DJing.

Level 1 is a 4-week intensive designed to move you from "knowing what the buttons do" to "developing a natural flow." This is all about active practice—honing your ears and your hands.

Your 4-Week Journey

• Gear, Software & Setup – Get hands-on with pro equipment and learn to set up a DJ system from scratch. Master the essentials of Rekordbox software.
• Mixing Techniques & FX – Learn to sync tempos (BPM) manually and practice smooth transitions using filters and creative effects.
• The Art of Beatmatching – Dive into the crucial skill of manual beatmatching, identifying beat patterns, and using faders for seamless blends.
• Phrasing & Selection – Understand music structure (bars/phrasing) and using headphones to cue your tracks.

By the end of this course, you’ll have the skills and confidence to progress directly to our Level 2: BEGINNERS workshop!

Prerequisites

Is this for me? This is a Level 1 "BASIC" course. If you already have a basic understanding of DJ equipment and the fundamentals of mixing including beat matching, understanding phrasing and experience using Rekordbox, I recommend you take the Level 2 course, as this one is aimed at absolut beginners.
