 Letterpress Basics

FUELis a project of the School of Fine & Performing Arts which brings artists and scholars to SUNY New Paltz to supplement and expand curricular offerings, including lectures, workshops, exhibitions, performances, and other special events. The projects are interdisciplinary in nature and often include two or more of the departments from within the School, as well as co-sponsorship with other schools, such as the schools of Business and Science & Engineering. The interdisciplinary aspect and the access to visiting artists and scholars are essential, and provide students with new ways of thinking, seeing, and making.

FUEL

This workshop will serve as an introduction to terminology, tools and techniques essential to letterpress printing. Participants will set type, lock up the form and print on Challenge Proof press.
