Intervention Stand-Alone: Initial Training

Overview

Letterland's Intervention Stand-Alone curriculum integrates vocabulary development and regular text-based practice to motivate students and support comprehension. The assessment tools ensure teachers deliver differentiated, data-driven instruction.

What does the Intervention Stand-Alone training cover?

The training for Intervention Stand-Alone focuses on foundational literacy skills critical to K-1, including print concepts, phonological awareness, phonics for reading, spelling, and fluency.

Instructional Objectives

  • Teach using data driven results.
  • Deliver in small groups (max. 6 students with similar needs).
  • Introduce at instructional level with systematic, explicit, and intentional delivery.
  • Provide scaffolded instruction – “I do, we do, you do.”
  • Involve high level pacing, engagement, and interactivity.
  • Maintain high standards and expectations.

How is the training delivered?

This training includes a Pre-Work Assignment which will need to be completed prior to the session. The assignment will be sent to participants on receipt of registration.

The training session is virtual and at the following times live on Zoom:

  • Morning: 9:00 am - 11:00 am [EDT]
  • Lunch break: 11:00 am - 12:00 pm.
  • Afternoon: 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm.

Participants will receive a link before the start of the session with details of how to join. Those new to Zoom will need to sign up here: Zoom Free Sign up.

After the training, all participants will receive a Letterland Certificate of Completion (4 hours). As School districts have different requirements, you should check with your district to ensure this will count towards your professional development hours.

What materials do I need?
