Let's Talk Trash!Meet our speakers:Cristina Robinson (Tralking Trash) Orange County Coastkeeper Education CoordinatorTidepool Educator at Laguna Ocean Foundation National Oceanic Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) Affiliate with the Protected Resources Division for the West Coast RegionVolunteer for the WhaleWatch Program at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium &amp; the American Cetacean Society's LA ChapterVolunteer/Citizen scientist for the sea turtle monitoring program for Aquarium of the PacificBachelor of Science in marine biology from California State University, Long BeachAndrew Hattala (Zero Waste Living: Be Part of the Solution Not the Pollution )Andy Hattala is a politically and environmentally-minded advocate and activist, promoting sustainability at UCLA and elsewhere. After being trained as a Climate Reality Leader in 2018, he promptly became a member of the L.A. Chapter Leadership Team handling special events and focusing on waste reduction. He serves as the current Legislative and Citizens’ Activist Committee Chair, inspired the creation of the Zero Waste Committee and actively speaks to multiple chapters on zero waste. He has also now officially joined the San Fernando Valley chapter as a consultant, member of legislative committee and newly minted member of the leadership team. Finally, he is currently running to serve as the next L.A. Chapter Co-Chair and is entertaining entering local politics. Bernadet Garcia-Silva ( Fighting Food Waste)Bernadet Garcia-Silva is a Program Manager at the Nutrition and Physical Activity Program in LA County’s Department of Public Health.  She works closely with community based partners and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank to redistribute surplus food to community based settings as part of a broader effort to prevent diet related chronic disease in low-income communities.  Bernadet has extensive knowledge and experience with food waste prevention and reduction initiatives as well as surplus food donation policies. Most recently, she was the Project Manager for the LA County Food Redistribution Initiative (LACFRI) within DPH’s Environmental Health Division and oversaw the LACFRI Steering Committee and Working Group, as well as trained the County’s Environmental Health Specialists (“health inspectors”) on food donation policies, outreach, and best practices.
