Let's Party for Cinco de Mayo

We are so excited you will be decorating with us! Check out the details below and we look forward to seeing you soon! • Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it). • Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet. • Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone! • Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

About this event

Looking for a great date night activity or a night out with your friends? Interested in having fun while decorating sugar cookies?! Cornerstone Creations & Cuisine is here to help! In this 2-hour class (plus a 30-minute charcuterie adventure prior to class!), we'll cover the basics of sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with Royal Icing, talk about the various ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around cookies and icing! Everything you'll need is provided at class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron).

This next installment of Cornerstone cookie decorating classes we will include a one-of-a-kind pre-class charcuterie set-up that will have cheeses, crackers, and fruits for you to snack on during the *30 minutes prior to the class start time*, so it will be a *complete night out event* for you and your friends or you and that special someone!

I n this class we will be decorating a sombrero, a margarita, a cactus, a taco, a chile pepper, and we'll also be making a pinata cookie! If you haven't seen one, they're awesome!

You'll leave class with a belly full of yummy fruits and cheeses and have delicious cookies as well as a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies. Plus you'll learn a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! More details on refunds, things to bring, and the FAQs are below. Looking forward to having you with us!

This class is for the beginner cookier, or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have a fun night out with family or friends, this is the class for you! Not only will you surprise yourself with how good this cookie set will look when youre done, it'll also taste great!

I will provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each decorator gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!

This class is on THURSDAY 5/2/24 and starts at 6:30 PM. The first 30 minutes will be for you to enjoy our pre-cookie class charcuterie set-up and fill your belly before you decorate! Then our class will start at 7 PM. You can come by yourself, bring your significant other or best friend, or even bring the family! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or taking it solo!

This class is good for ages 9+, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home to be able to enjoy the fun or for you to spend more time practicing your skills when class is over.

(This class is suitable for 9+. One seat required per person present.)

[There is no additional cost to enjoy the pre-class charcuterie hors d'oeuvres!]

Frequently asked questions

What will I do in the class?

Besides having the most fun ever? We will be going over some cookie facts, decorating techniques and you will be decorating your very own set of cookies that you will take home with you that day.

Can I purchase an extra cookie kit to take home?

Yes! Many parents or practicing cookiers purchase additional class kits to take home and re-do the classes. You can purchase an add-on kit during check-out. Your kit will be available at the end of your class - so don't forget it! If you’re skipping class and just ordering the kit – swing by anytime

Do I need to know anything about baking?

Nope! No baking history required. We will have everything pre-made for you. Experienced decorating just wanting to have some fun? Come on too! We welcome all experience levels!

What will we learn in class?

You’ll learn about different icing consistencies – we’ll touch on tips & tricks to make your cookies look better than they taste (& they taste good)! You’ll also learn different decorating techniques depending on the class theme.

Do I need to bring anything?

Nothing but a smile! Everything will be provided for you. All you need to do is join us & have fun! Messy decorator? You can bring an apron or just wear easy-to-wash clothing. There is a PowerPoint so if you wear glasses we'd encourage you to bring them as well. Oh! Bring your phone! I love photos!

Is there a minimum age for the cookie classes?

This particular class is suitable for ages 9 and up; however, we do use sharp objects in class so anyone under the age of 12 is required to have a parent take the class (and purchase a ticket) with them.

Do I have to take the class with my child?

All parents are required to attend the class with kids under 12. For kids 12+, you can walk them in & return at the end. We are unable to allow parents to stay & watch their kid's class. If you want to stay, you'll need to get a ticket to take the class as well. I promise you, it's lots of fun!

What will I get to take home?

By the end of the class, you will have created a set of gorgeous cookies ready to dry for 24 - 48 hours in their own box. If you'd like, I can send you a link to tools like we use. Just ask! And of course, you’ll have new skills, memories, and fun!

Can I sign up by myself or with friends?

You can sign up either as an individual, with a friend, or with a whole group. The more the merrier! We have a limited number of seats per class, so definitely sign up ASAP!

Where are the classes located?

This class will be held at the The Loading Dock located at 525 S. White Street in Wake Forest, North Carolina. They have an amazing space we are using for these classes!
