The Fabville Fabrication Laboratory is housed at Somerville High School in a newly designed Engineering classroom which offers a dynamic co-working space comprised of daytime high school classes and afterschool programs for students and adults. When you arrive at the main entrance of the school, you will be greeted by a door monitor and directed downstairs slightly to the right as you enter. At the bottom of the stairs hang a left and you will have found FabVille.In order to ensure the safety of students and community members alike, all users must fill out a membership form before visiting FabVille. Bring your student or government-issued ID with you when visiting FabVille. Thank you

Fabville Design Lab

In this beginner class, learn about one of Fabville’s most user friendly tools, the Roland Vinyl cutter. A vinyl cutter is a great 2d printing tool that allows you to bring your images, logos, and fun ideas to sticker format. Throw it onto your laptop, your snowboard, your water bottle or your friends back. Pick amongst a dozen pre selected images for cutting. Add personalized text if you like! We’ll discuss how to prepare a file for sticker making in Inkscape: a free graphic editing software. Learn how to properly load the machine, how to weed your sticker onto transfer paper, and some helpful tips for selecting good images from the web for sticker making. 
Note: This is not a modeling class, but we will review basic design tips.
Note 2: Each member will have a choice from a dozen pre selected images. To ensure everyone is engaged and leaves with a sticker, we will not be preparing custom images for sticker making. If you would like to make a custom sticker, no problem! Schedule an appointment monday-friday from 4-6pm by emailing contact@fabville.net. 
All children must be accompanied by an adult
Minimum age requirement + 12 and up.
