Let's go Diamond mining.
Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas, offers a unique experience where the public can search for real diamonds in their original volcanic source. This 911-acre state park is the only diamond-producing site in the world open to the public. It features a 37-acre plowed field where visitors can hunt for diamonds and other semi-precious gems. The diamonds found at the park come in all colors of the rainbow, with white, brown, and yellow being the most common. In addition to diamonds, searchers may find amethyst, garnet, jasper, agate, quartz, and more. The park provides tools for rent, and visitors can keep any gemstone they find, regardless of its value.
Our Journey begins at the Crystal Temple, our cozy retreat house nestled in the hills of Hot Springs Arkansas.
Check is Friday evening where we gather for a dinner meet and greet. Early Saturday morning we strike out on our journey through the Arkansas mountains to the Crater of Diamonds. The park closes at 4pm, it's an hour drive or so back to the retreat house.
Sunday is optional but it's always nice to take a short trip to downtown hot springs where you can experience bath house row and the natural spring water fountains of Hot Springs.
Local transportation, Friday night dinner and mining and tool fees fees included.
