Come join local author Rachael Brown of For Fork's Sake: A Quick Guide to Healing Yourself and the Planet Through a Plant-Based Diet and learn how to make some simple dressings and sauces that will make your meals shine. You'll learn the easy formula to make healthy, delicious dressings at home and get to sample several dressings.
Ditch those store bought, oil-laden dressings and learn how to save money, time, your health, and the planet by making your own with what you've already got.
All dishes will be Whole Food Plant-Based and free of added oil.
Join Eat for the Earth for an enlightening presentation and a light, saucy meal!
About the Presenter
Rachael J. Brown earned a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate and Food and Sustainability Certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies and eCornell. After being diagnosed with high cholesterol in her late 20s,discovering The China Study, and transitioning her family to the Whole Food Plant-Based No Oil (WFPBNO) lifestyle her cholesterol immediately dropped 50 points.. She has been an adjunct professor in nutrition and wellness, a certified yoga and Pilates instructor, and a licensed massage practitioner.
Rachael's book, For Fork's Sake: A Quick Guide to Healing Yourself and the Planet Through a Plant-Based Diet, has received accolades from leaders in the plant-based movement and has helped hundreds of people gain knowledge and skills to improve their health through plant-based nutrition.
Rachael is happily married with two grown children. She lives in Santa Cruz County, where she can usually be found trail running, rock climbing, cycling, and bikepacking with her husband.
