Learn how to build your own custom hardwood cutting board! I will expertly guide you as you learn how to safely use a variety of essential wood shop tools. You will gain practical skills in milling rough lumber, edge-gluing boards, clamping, sanding, and applying a food-safe finish. By the end of the workshop, you'll proudly take home a beautiful board you made yourself and just in time for dinner.

This 5-hour course will cover topics such as:

  • Selecting and preparing hardwood
  • Milling hardwood
  • Using the table saw for rip and cross cuts
  • Gluing and clamping techniques
  • Edge detail using a router table
  • Sanding and finishing for a polished look

We will be taking a 30 minute lunch break after glue-up. This is to allow the glue some time to set before we move on to the next steps. Clear Creek Makerspace has a fridgerator and microwave participants may use.

You will walk away with ready-to-use hardwood cutting board that you built!
