This workshop will help you to understand the basics of codes and zoning and the different parking options available for tiny homes, with helpful references to the current codes and zoning within Los Angeles and California. This information is crucial for anyone considering the Tiny Lifestyle!

Codes and Certification:

Are you interested in building or buying a tiny house?It is essential that you understand what goes into making a home safe, legal, and a smart investment. Attending this workshop, you'll gain an understanding of what building codes are and which ones are important to your tiny house build, an in depth review of the different tiny house certifications out there, tips for meeting codes and being successful during a certification program, and connection to other tiny house enthusiasts and DIY builders!

About Presenter:

Teresa Baker is the Co-Founder & President of LATCH Collective, as well as a State Chapter Leader with the American Tiny House Association and builder of her own DIY tiny house - the Bakon Box. Her wife Shaina and pitbull Waffles are really excited to be finishing their build and starting tiny house living in 2019, after many years of planning. With a background in urban planning, Teresa recently graduated from Carpentry school and is working as a crew leader for Habitat for Humanity. Teresa is passionate about furthering the tiny house movement by increasing the options for legally living tiny.
