During this one-hour presentation, the speakers will address the complications in dealing with difficult patients and will provide important strategies in preventing and defending against insurance audits. Methods for identifying difficult patients will be discussed. The presenters will identify the legal issues that often arise and will provide specific strategies to manage risk and limit exposure to the practice. The “do’s and don’ts” in responding to an audit will be provided, along with guidance on dealing with over-payment demands.Target audience: Physicians and Practice AdministratorsObjectives:1) To discuss strategies medical practices can employ in dealing with difficult patients.2) To review the process in handling an insurance audit and building a defense to an over-payment Accreditation Statement: HRET is accredited by the Medical Society of New Jersey to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
