Could he do it? Could Donald J. Trump actually serve as President in a third term? Trump himself recently said he was "not joking" about the idea. While it's hard to know if he's just trolling or has an actual plan, we should take seriously his statement that "There are methods which you could do it.”

Political science professor Bruce Peabody is one of the co-authors of a pathbreaking article that considered how Presidents could exploit loopholes in the Constitution to serve in more than two terms, despite the Twenty-Second Amendment which says that “[n]o person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice.” Peabody will lead the group through a surprising (and, for some, terrifying) journey through textual analysis, U.S. history, and constitutional interpretation--leaving us at the threshold of a "twice and future President." The questions we address together may soon confront our nation—and the world.
