Learning Immersive Technology (LIT) End-of-Year Showcase
End-of-Year LIT Showcase!
LIT (Learning Immersive Technology) is a pilot partnership between Arts Corps, Reel Grrls, Totem Star, SIXR, and the students of Big Picture High School in Burien. The program responds to the need for low-income students of color in Seattle and South King County to gain equitable access to STEM fields, through co-created, youth-centered workshops in Virtual/Augmented Reality, Game Design, Interactive Filmmaking, and Audio Production, as well as professional showcase opportunities.
At this end-of-year showcase for the 2019 program, our interns will present and demo their VR games, 360 Films, and accompanying audio projects. We will also be debuting a short LIT documentary about this first year of programming.
Accessibility and transit information:
- The entrance, cinemas, and restrooms of Northwest Film Forum are fully wheelchair accessible.
- NWFF is located a short walk from the Capitol Hill light rail station, and within 1/2 mile of many buses including the # 10, 11, 43, 49 routes. To plan your bus trip, go here.
- Walking, biking, and public transportation are the best ways to reach us – parking in the Capitol Hill neighborhood is notoriously difficult.
- An affordable pay parking lot is available 3 blocks from the Film Forum, at the Greek Orthodox Church at 13th and Howell (please note: this lot may be closed for special events).
- We also recommend Seattle Central College’s Harvard Garage at 1609 Harvard Avenue (at E. Pine Street), which is open and available 24/7
- Street parking is available Mon–Sat after 8pm and all day on Sundays. Please use this downloadable map as a guide for parking restrictions.
- Free parking is available seven nights a week after 9pm at the Richmark Printers lot on 11th and Pine Street, just east of Cal Anderson Park. Parking is not guaranteed.
