This 7-hour weekend intensive will be taught by Sujantra McKeever, founder of Pilgrimage of the Heart Yoga and author of Learn to Teach Meditation and Mindfulness and co-author of Teaching Mindfulness to Children: A Practical Guide for Parents, Teachers, and Caregivers.
Over the course of the weekend you will learn to teach all the foundational forms of practice including guided visualization, the use of mantras, breath work, chanting, positive affirmations and movement meditations.
The training is based on Sujantra McKeever’s book: Learn to Teach Meditation and Mindfulness and Sujantra’s and Kelly Derouin’s book Teaching Mindfulness to Children: A Practical Guide for Parents, Teachers, and Caregivers.
The class includes discussion and practice teaching. On the first day of the training you will receive free copies of both books which come with all the scripting you will need to begin sharing immediately.
We also explore the use of journaling, mandalas and music as part of the meditation and mindfulness experience. We will practice teach and create teaching outlines for all of the various teaching opportunities you may encounter.
You will:
- Learn to use and teach meditation and mindfulness to find inner peace and clarity
- Learn to lead others in meditation and mindfulness practices
- Learn specific techniques for sharing mindfulness with children of all ages
- Learn to incorporate elements of meditation into daily living
- Understand the philosophical and scientific underpinnings of meditation
