Event description

Description

NOTE: By registering for this event, you are committing to come to six (6) sessions of this class. The class will meet on 9/23, 9/30, 10/7, 10/21, 10/28, and 11/4. (There is no meeting on 10/14, Columbus Day.)

This is a short course for those who have little or no experience in computer programming. You will gain insight into programming ideas and goals using Python, a very popular and powerful programming language. The aim of the class is to help you decide if further programming study might be right for you. You will have the opportunity to do some actual programming, as this is where the “feel” of programming can be experienced.

Participants must bring their own laptop computers and have rudimentary computer skills such as powering on, creating and modifying text files, and browsing the Internet.

Email address required to register online. If you do not have an email address, visit or call the WFPL Reference Desk to register (617-972-6436). If you have taken this computer class before, we ask that you please wait to register until the day of the class so that new students have a chance to register.
