About this event

  • 2 hours

In this two-hour class, we’ll introduce attendees to the exciting world of laser cutting and engraving! First, we’ll provide some background on the different types of laser cutters and engravers, the difference between cutting and engraving, and the different software involved in the process, including an in-depth demonstration of LightBurn, the software we use to control our lasers. After a safety briefing, each attendee will use LightBurn and our 60-watt CO2 laser to engrave their text of choice onto a piece of clear acrylic to take home. By the end of the class, attendees will have the knowledge to begin their journey into laser cutting and engraving, including the training required to cut or engrave designs into wood, leather, acrylic, and more at Open Workshops!

Our shop will be open after the class ends; stick around to take a tour or work on a project!

Note: Both in-person and hybrid registration is available for this class. Please read the description on each ticket type or check the FAQ for details.
