Frequently asked questions

Where is the Learn to Curl held?

This event will be held at the Smithfield Municipal Ice Rink.

Do I need to bring any equipment?

Nope! We'll supply all the equipment you need.

What should I wear?

Wear warm, loose-fitting clothing (e.g., stretchy pants, jacket/sweater/layers, hat, gloves, thick socks -- it can get cold in the rink!) and clean sneakers (we try to keep dirt off the ice). We also suggest wearing dark color clothing to avoid getting scuffed/marked on while on the ice.

What happens at a Learn to Curl?

We start with off-ice instructions and history of curling, follow by on-ice practice led by our instructors where you will learn the basics of curling (delivery, sweeping, scoring). At the end, depending on time, you will get to play 1-3 full ends so you can see how it feels to play a game!

My friends/family and I all registered. Can we be grouped together?

Depending on the number of people in your group, we will do our best to keep people in your group together! If group members are registering separately, please indicate the name(s) of the other people in your group.
