Starting to code can be intimidating.

That's why Galvanize created a supportive environment to learn to code that includes over 30 hours of guided information, exercises, and projects led by a Galvanize instructor. You don't have to go it alone.

If you’ve tried online tutorials just to get stuck and frustrated, this event is for you. We believe in community based learning to help anyone, of any skill level, grow their skills in web development.

This learning series format combine breakout sessions, formalized instruction, and group learning to enable to grasp the skills necessary to become a web developer.

This event will occur on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of every month. It usually takes approximately 8 weeks to complete the entire curriculum. If you can't attend every meetup, don't worry. With support for a Galvanize instructor and your peers, you will never fall behind.

Requirements:

The curriculum is geared towards someone who has never coded and will provide you foundational knowledge in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We built the learning series to be an approachable and encouraging introduction to web development for the most basic of beginners :)

If you've started to dabble in coding, we have you covered! You’ll be able to breeze through the basics and join some breakout sessions that cover some more advanced topics.

By the end of the 8 part series you’ll be able to create and deploy a static website and create a mad-lib game completely from scratch.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Students must be at least 18. If they are under the age of 18, they must have written consent from a parent/guardian. Contact ryan.hunter@galvanize.com for more info.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?

There is street parking nearby, and the garage on Nueces in the Northshore Building, where we're located, is only $5 if you park after 6 pm.
