Your Instructor

Matthew Nuzum has been working as a professional web developer since 2001 and teaching web development since 2007. He is actively involved in the web development community in the Des Moines area and has worked for companies in a variety of industries including healthcare, industrial, software, travel and software development in Europe and America.

The Online Classroom

Students will attend class using a virtual classroom environment that combines video, audio and screen sharing. This is a live classroom where the instructor and students interact in real time. Outside of class time, a Facebook group will be available for students to ask questions and share information.

Key concepts will be provided in video format that students can re-watch in order to review once the class time has ended.

Requirements

To attend class and complete assignments you will need a Mac or Windows computer and a high-speed Internet connection. Most modern computers running Windows 7 or Mac OS X 10.7 or newer will work as long as they have at least 2GB of system memory (RAM) and at least 2 GB of free storage space.

A microphone is recommended.

In order to participate in group chat outside of class, a Facebook account is needed.

There are additional costs in order to complete the assignments. Instructions will be provided during class, so please don't purchase these before hand.

  • Purchase of a domain name – approximately $15 (or use an existing domain name if you have one)
  • Purchase a web hosting account - $102
