This five-week course will train the actor to create grounded, improvised scene-work within the form of an improvised play.

There is no "right way" to create improvised narrative work, but there are tools available that support the actor in their commitment to story and collaboration with a team. In this five-week course, we will explore how to access these tools with ease, leading to more clear, concise, and memorable improvised storytelling. You will walk away with a deeper understanding of and confidence in how to improvise a play that resonates with yourself, your scene partners, and your audience.

  • Week 1 (Sep. 25) - Committing to grounded circumstances
  • Week 2 (Oct. 2) - Collaborating with a team to build a clear, narrative hallway
  • Week 3 (Oct. 9) - Narrative form
  • Week 4 (Oct. 16) - The mono-scene
  • Week 5 (Oct. 23) - End of course, public performance
