LETTING GO OF PERFECT:
A Painting & NLP Experience to Teach You How to Let Go of Control & Embrace Things as They Are
ABOUT THIS EXPERIENCE:
The interesting thing about perfectionism is that it looks different on everyone. For some, it can be an overpowering impulse to focus on every detail, even when it doesn’t matter. For others, an unyielding need to make sense of the world and every situation in it. But for almost all, it's a lense we carry into each area of our lives, that distorts everything we see.
I started this journey into "letting go” about 6 months ago. For a long time I wondered what lay beyond the death-grip of control. I thought it might be Freedom — all I’ve ever wanted to do, or be. So far though, my biggest discovery hasn’t been so much in what I've gained, but in truly understanding what I’m letting go: my "image of myself" — my humanly-impossible expectation for everything I believe I SHOULD be and SHOULD do. Since when you finally let go of all those expectations of what SHOULD, all you're left with is what IS: The person you are in this moment, full of hopes, dreams, fears, and anxieties. And rather than needing to "figure it all out,” you’re able to just live in it, and enjoy life... as it is.
And that, is our greatest hope for you in this experience: To teach you how to finally let go of what “should” in your life, so you can embrace what “is.”
GROWTH AREAS: Expectation // Perception // Intuition // Acceptance
SKILLS LEARNED: Pour Painting & Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP)
WHAT WERE DOING:
By blending the worlds of painting and NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming), we’ve created an experience that summons all your senses, to teach you how to let go of control. We chose painting because it mirrors how perfection often shows up in our lives: As a continual striving to capture some external image, emotion, or idea through a process of unending refinement.
--- But imagine if we could turn traditional painting on its head. What if we completely removed that image of expectation, and instead asked you to paint from where you are in this exact moment… with no pressure to figure out where you're going, or how you’ll get there.
--- Further, imagine if you had almost no control… if you could not influence what your final painting became? What then? This is exactly how we’ll be painting; in a way that mimics not perfection, but how we actually hope to live: Here and now.
NLP on the other hand, is the “science of perception.” It studies how our brains and bodies receive information, and transforms that information into perceptions unique to each of us. These perceptions direct everything we see, think, feel, say, and do — most especially our need to control.
--- Using NLP, we will show you exactly how your body processes external stimuli through your 5 senses, to generate perceptions related to control.
--- More importantly, we will guide you through specific tools & exercises you can implement on your own to change how your brain interprets triggering situations; so you can construct perceptions that work for you, rather than against you.
WHAT YOU'LL GET:
We hope you’ll have a ton fun and make new friends who share the same struggles as you. But more so, we hope you’ll learn how to see the world differently, free from the grip of control; that you’ll know in your bones exactly what that freedom feels like; and that you’ll leave equipped with a few new tools that you can apply in your daily lives, to live the life you ultimately want. Oh, and you’ll get a kick-ass new painting too :)

NEDAA SALAMEH
Married off at the age of 16, for a long time Nedaa Salameh felt like she didn’t have a voice. She was immediately thrust into raising a family and never had time to find herself. But “pouring paint” has taught her more about herself than anything she’s ever done.
“The process of stepping back, standing still, and gazing from within has really helped me to see clearly” she says. “It’s taught me how to conquer my fears and take responsibility for my life…. But more than anything, it’s taught me how to hear my own voice.”
Through the silence of pouring paint, Nedaa’s realized that not only does she have a voice, but that it’s actually worth listening to. She’s discovered how to tap into her intuitions, instincts and desires, and actually embrace — rather than suppress — them. And in finally letting herself to accept herself as she is, she’s learning how to embrace others... as they are.

JASON SCHNEIDER
My mission is to train the highest quality practitioners of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) & Neuro-Semantics to have a high level skill in accessing their power, performing at their best, communicating effectively and with grace, achieving their outcomes, and unleashing their highest potential personally and professionally. Ultimately my goal is for you to run your own mind, rather than your mind running you; so you can evolve yourself by choice, rather than by chance.
I choose to do this work because the skills and tools to run your own mind and think critically are more important than ever before, in these times of accelerating change and increasing bombardment with information. One of the most important skills for people to have is the skill of leading themselves, rather than being driven by other people's agendas or your own past programming. And to do so in a way that is aligned with your highest potential.
There is a quote by Abraham Maslow along the lines of "If you aim to be anything less than what you are fully capable of, be prepared to be deeply unhappy for the rest of your life." Part of my mission is to facilitate people to reach their full potential, for no other reason than because they are capable of it. I apply these skills and tools to my own life daily, to model what is possible when you are able to run your own life, choose your own path, and walk your own self-actualization pathway.
