LEAP Module 9: Project Management (For City of Detroit employees only)
This interactive, hands-on four-hour Project Management workshop introduces participants to project management fundamentals enabling participants to better manage their own projects. This foundational course defines core terms essential to understanding project management. Participants examine how to select human capital when managing projects. They share their previous and current project experiences to determine factors that lead to a project’s success and failure. The course aligns participants’ experiences to benchmarks and best practices that minimize quality defects and ultimately lead to successful project implementation through assessing and mitigating risks. Using the five-phase project management model, the course provides practical recommendations and checklists for each phase that participants can use within their own projects.
