About this event

Leadership is not about titles or the corner office. It’s about the willingness to step up, put yourself out there, and lean into courage. But what is courage? Brené explains that courage is actually made up of four skill sets that can be taught and learned. (Join us to unlock the four keys!) The world is desperate for braver leaders -and we are those leaders - in our homes, workplaces, and anywhere we have the opportunity to influence change. Now is the time for all of us to step up.

Dare to Lead is a #1 national and international best-seller. Dr. Brené Brown is a research professor at the University of Houston Graduate College of Social Work. She has spent the past two decades studying courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and is the author of five #1 New York Times bestsellers: The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, Rising Strong, Braving the Wilderness, and her latest book, Dare to Lead, which is the culmination of a seven-year study on courage and leadership. Brené has been bringing a researched based counter-culturall message about the importance of vulnerabiliy, letting go of perfectionism, and seeking courage over comfort, all of which are necessary for collaboration, innovation and creativity in the workplace.

We hope you step up and join us! Check out the book at your City's HR office.

Our book discussion will be hosted virtually through Zoom. Those who sign up will be sent some "food for thought questions" and provided with a Zoom link a week before the book club discussion. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy this unique learning experience.

All participants are encouraged to visit the Dare to Lead Hub:

Don't have time to read the book? View Brené's Dare to Lead Global read-along (short videos on each chapter), and/or read Brenés Dare to Lead book summary and feel free to join in the book club discussion.
