Our affinity group provides a supportive environment to address issues surrounding MLLs, share best practices, and build community.
Leaders of multilingual learners work in many roles and often face unique challenges and experiences. Our affinity group provides a safe and supportive environment to address these issues, share best practices, and build a sense of community.
Each session will focus on a pressing need for the group, and provide a platform to discuss ideas and policies as well as share resources.
Our group will focus on discussion questions and challenging issues the communities pose, which we will discuss in breakout groups.
Some possible topics include:
- Professional development
- Mentorship
- Emotional support
- Advocacy
Please note that participants wishing to attend multiple dates will need to register for each date separately. Upcoming events can be found here.

October 14, 2025, 4 pm - 5 pm Topics: Coaching teachers of ELs, providing asset based strategies for students
January 13, 2025, 4pm - 5 pm Topics: Preparing for WIDA
April 14, 2025, 4 pm - 5 pm Topics: Wrapping up the year, Creating family interaction opportunities
