Lead Renovator Initial Certification Course

This is an EPA-approved course for Lead-Safe Certification for anyone who performs work on pre-1978 housing or child-occupied facilities.

Anyone who performs renovations, repairs or painting (RRP) in pre-1978 housing or child occupied facilities must be Lead-Safe Certified by the EPA or an EPA-authorized state. Likewise, contractors working on pre-1978 housing must employ at least one Certified Renovator. This course includes lead safety training approved by the EPA. Companies must also process an application to become a Lead Safe Certified Firm. The course concludes with a certification exam. Individuals and companies that are not certified could face fines.
