Join us for a fun multigenerational field trip. We will be heading to Lawrence Hall of Science to check out their new exhibit on the future of food. As always, this gathering will be centered on Black land connection, Black health and of course Black Joy! We welcome Black folks of all ages and their loves ones to join.
About the exhibit:
Discover a world where food choices can help heal the planet, fuel our bodies, and build more sustainable communities. Explore a cow’s microbiome, learn about farmbots, and see how new technologies can be to produce foods with a respect for cultural traditions and the environment.
Why you should join us:
- Taking time to learn about growing our own food moves us closer to self determination.
- Spending time outdoors in natural spaces reminds us of the abundance that surrounds us and offers our systems a chance to reset
- By leaning about afro-ecology we can begin to rewrite the narrative about Black history, Black ingenuity and Black legacies.
- Spending time in beloved community is good for the soul and our emotional well being.
