Laurie's Hope and Livestrong are two of the cancer survivor programs that the YMCA of Central New York offers.
Laurie's Hope helps breast cancer survivors thrive by maintaining physical fitness and strength; improving their diets; and helping them make connections with other breast cancer survivors. With a strong emphasis on improved social support, interventions are individually designed to strengthen survivors’ support networks, both inside and outside of the YMCA.
Livestrong is 12-week exercise and group support program focuses on improving the survivor’s strength, fitness, and quality of life. In addition to physical benefits, the program also focuses on the emotional well-being of survivors and their families. It provides a supportive community where people impacted by cancer can connect during treatment and beyond.
