Laundry Love

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic we have suspended Laundry Love.

It was a difficult decision for us to make but we have decided to suspend Laundry Love until further notice. Our national and local governments have asked that people not gather in groups of more than ten. Since we usually have WAY MORE than 10 people at Laundry Love we have suspended Laundry Love until this crisis is past.

It is hoped that by practicing “social distancing” we may be able to slow the infection rate of the Coronavirus so that our medical facilities will be able to maintain enough capacity to care for the seriously ill. First Prez is committed to doing our part. We have cancelled all in-person worship services and meetings at both of our church campuses (in Kaneohe and Kaka’ako). We see this as an act of love for our community.

The Laundry Love initiative consists of regular opportunities to assist people who are struggling financially by helping them wash their clothes. Laundry Love seeks to bring economic relief to individuals and families by giving them the opportunity to redirect funds toward food, medical expenses, transportation costs, school supplies and other basic, everyday necessities. For those living below the poverty line, washing clothes presents both a logistical problem and a financial hardship. We partner with a local laundromat in Waimanalo in cleaning the clothes of those living in shelters, motels, cars, garages, parks and on the streets.
