Manhattan Neighborhood Network El Barrio Firehouse Community Media Center presents The 2019 Latino Film Market opening ceremony will welcome filmmakers, jurors, special guests, speakers as well as all the partners and sponsors of the event. La ceremonia de inauguración del Latino Film Market 2019 dará la bienvenida a cineastas, artistas, jurados, invitados especiales, collaboradosres y patrocinadores del evento.

It will include red carpet, opening ceremony, guests artist and a premiere screening. Incluirá alfombra roja, ceremonia de apertura, artistas invitados y una proyección de un cortometraje.

This year the guest country is Puerto Rico. Este año el país invitado es Puerto Rico.

Celestino will be presenting his art work inspired by the dead of her mother that past few days after the hurricane Maria.

Celestino presentará sus obras de arte inspirada en el fallecimiento de su madre varios días después del huracán María.

Discípulo de los maestros Noemí Ruiz, Carmelo Sobrino y Rafael Rivera Rosa, entre otros. Estudios en la Liga de Arte y la Escuela de Artes Plásticas en San Juan. Recién expuso junto a un grupo de artistas puertorriqueños en la Bienal del Museo Whitney y el Museo del Barrio en Nueva York. Actualmente su trabajo puede ser visto en Galeria Cueto en Guaynabo. Tiene MFA en Museología con Hiromi Shiba.

Celestino. Natural of Santurce, P.R.

Disciple of the teachers Noemí Ruiz, Carmelo Sobrino and Rafael Rivera Rosa, among others. Studied in the Art League and the School of Plastic Arts in San Juan. He recently exhibited with a selected group of Puerto Rican artists at the Whitney Museum Biennial and the Museo del Barrio in New York. Currently his work can be seen in Galeria Cueto in Guaynabo. He has a MFA in Museology with Hiromi Shiba.


Fuerza Natura y Renacer son obras que nacen a consecuencia del paso del huracán Maria por PR. Ya las había comenzado, pero obtuvieron otro giro al pasar el fenómeno atmosférico. Fuerza Natura nos presenta la fuerza destructora de la naturaleza pero a la vez la sutileza y perfección con la cual repara todo lo dañado. Renacer es el estado espiritual de agradecimiento por la.vida, pese a las pérdidas personales que tuve.

Fuerza Natura and Renacer are works that are born as a result of the passage of hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. He had already started them, but they got another turn when the atmospheric phenomenon passed. Fuerza Natura presents us with the destructive force of nature but at the same time with the subtlety and perfection with which it repairs everything damaged. Reborn is the spiritual state of gratitude for life, despite the personal losses I had.

Alejandra will be presenting her short film “The Blue Cape” that represents a reflection on what happened in the island of Puerto Rico through hurricane Maria. Alejandra presentará su cortometraje "El Cabo Azul", que representa una reflexión sobre lo que sucedió en la isla de Puerto Rico a través del huracán María.

Director, writer and actress; born in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Alejandra showed passion for Drama at fourteen years of age, performing in the plays of her local church. At nineteen she became leader of the Ministry of Drama, writing and directing plays, and also growing in the professional field. She has participated as lead actress in several commercials and TV shows, locally and internationally, as well as working as a PA on several films, such as “Runner Runner”, “22 Jump Street”, “Masterminds”, among others. She has also directed two short films and has her own production company, Producciones Acento, where she often writes, produces and directs projects. Her short film “Fulano” has gained numerous awards. It has screened in festivals in New York and California, including the renown San Diego Latino Film Festival. Currently, she's the Assistant to the Director and a Staff Writer on Crackle's new original series "Startup" while writing pilots and a feature film on her spare time. She lives in Los Angeles, California.

Directora, escritora y actriz; Nació en San Juan, Puerto Rico. Alejandra mostró pasión por el drama a los catorce años, actuando en las obras de su iglesia. A los diecinueve años se convirtió en líder del Ministerio de Drama, escribiendo y dirigiendo obras, y también creciendo en el campo profesional. Ha participado como actriz principal en varios comerciales y programas de televisión, a nivel local e internacional. Alejandra trabajo como asistente de producción en varias películas, como “Runner Runner”, “22 Jump Street”, “Masterminds”, entre otras. También ha dirigido dos cortometrajes y tiene su propia compañía de producción "Producciones Acento," donde a menudo escribe, produce y dirige proyectos. Su cortometraje “Fulano” ha ganado numerosos premios. Se ha presentado en festivales en Nueva York y California, incluido el famoso Festival de Cine Latino de San Diego. Actualmente, es asistente del director y escritora (Staff Writer) en la nueva serie original de "Crackle", "Startup", mientras escribe pilotos y un largometraje en su tiempo libre.
