Friends Who Are Going
Event description

Description

After the devastating storms affecting Latin America over the past few months, many of us have felt the connection to our homes, friends and loved-ones stronger then ever.

On November 11th, it is our turn to bring to you the Caribbean Island to the heart of the Netherlands. Together with the our friends at the various Latin American Embassys here in the Netherlands, we want to celebrate our joy and culture at the historic Transformatorhuis in Westergasfabriek, Amsterdam.

We have prepared an entire day full of food, drinks, music and dancing. Our special guest for the night directly from the Cuban Capital, will be the world’s number one salsa band Havana D’Primera starring lead singer Alexandre Abreu.

You will be able to purchase the Daytime Pass, the Evening Pass or the Full Pass for the complete Latin Experience here on Eventbrite | Urban-tickets.com | or at the venue itself.

Please contact info@urban-tickets.com for requests concerning booth vendors and truck space and non-profit tax exempt donations.

Program:

The day will start with the public screening of Buena Vista Social Club, introducing the vibrant island’s musicality and preparing for the evening’s performance.

During the day, you will be able to experience Latin flavors through food trucks, fresh drinks and music, played by live DJs.

In the afternoon, the doors will open for social dancing inaugurated by dance shows and performances from local dance schools. Furthermore, you will be able to learn the basics or refresh your knowledge of salsa at a crash course before the concert starts.

As the sun goes down, live concerts by Latin American bands will open the stage to the world’s number one salsa band: Havana D’Primera.

After the concert, the biggest Latin Afterparty continues at the Westerunie with Salsa, Son and the Latin tunes Bachata and Merengue.

(In the end, 10% of the profit will go to the Hurricane Irma Relief Fund (https://www.globalgiving.org/projects/hurricane-irma-relief-fund), helping to provide relief to survivors in the form of emergency supplies like food, water, and medicine in addition to longer-term recovery assistance to help residents recover and rebuild.)
