Event description


Join us to create this large-scale collaborative map of Chicago at former Anthony Overton Elementary School; help us with this project and learn about the status and repurposing process of over 40 school sites located in 25 neighborhoods.


You can join either of these dates or more than one!

Monday, Septebmer 18, 11am–3pm

Friday, Septebmer 29, 11am–3pm

Saturday, September 30, 11am-3pm

If you cannot attend the entire session, that's also fine! Whatever time you can contribute will be highly appreciated.

What will we be doing?

Project activities include: drawing, outlining, spray paiting, cutting, folding, assembling, etc.

What to bring?

Comfortable clothes and that you don't mind getting dirty. Hat and sunscreen highly recommended since we'll be working outdoors.

All materials, lunch (pizza!) and refreshments will be provided by organizers.

This project will be shared and activated during public program OPENING CLOSINGS on Saturday, October 7. This program is a collaboration between Borderless Studio, DOCOMOMO-US Chicago and Chicago Arts Partnerships in Education (CAPE).

We are a program partner and project connector of the Chicago Architecture Biennial.
