This event is part of the Portland Winter Light Festival. Join us for a family-friendly DIY workshop and make your own lantern! This takes place on Sunday, January 26.This workshop, led by artist Tessa Winiarski, will lead you through creating your own one-of-a-kind lantern. This year’s lantern design, by Tessa Winiarski, is constructed out of recycled wooden boxes and plastic sheeting, making it durable and water resistant. Along with the crafting of the structure, creativity will be invited through color choice, painting style and illustration. SCRAP is offering 20% off materials in the store, and some basic materials will be provided, including an electric tea light for each lantern.You are encouraged to bring your lantern to the festival and join in the 4th annual Lantern Parade on Saturday, February 8. A volunteer may be in attendance for part of this event in order to document and promote the activities of the non-profit Willamette Light Brigade and its partners.
