About this event

  • 2 hours

The language we use has the power to support and motivate teachers to be reflective and learning-oriented. In selecting our words carefully, we create opportunities for teachers to identify spaces of strength and opportunities for growth. Using this type of language helps to create actionable, meaningful feedback and next-steps that drive teachers forward in their work. This session will provide you with key words, phrases, and sentence stems you can use to position teachers as reflective practitioners.

This session will focus on key characteristics of language we can use when providing feedback. Effective feedback honors the work teachers are already doing and assumes positive presuppositions about their decisions. Join this Workshop to learn how to lean into these principles and learn how to frame feedback in ways that both honor the teacher and their decision making and provide opportunities to move practice forward.

Who Should Attend:

The KINL Coaching: Language For Effective Feedback workshop is designed for coaches, department chairs, team leaders, administrators, and others who provide feedback to teachers through partnership, mentorship, or evaluation.  This Workshop will support anyone who provides feedback to teachers.

What to Expect:

This workshop will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to:

  • use language that positions teachers as reflective decision-makers
  • provide meaningful and actionable feedback
