Gathering Storytellers to Start New Traditions…VisionBuilding a community where kind &amp; curious storytellers gather often to encourage gratitude, seek inspiration at Richmond landmarks, and flex our imaginations through fantasy world-building &amp; table-top role playing games.Why gather at Richmond landmarks?The global COVID pandemic has highlighted the significance of gathering on our well being. The simple act of gathering safely was a kindness postponed. Landmarks are places for a community to gather intentionally. Let’s start some new traditions in honor of that. Why fantasy world building &amp; table-top role playing?One silver lining from the pandemic has been rediscovering the joy of cooperative play. The rules of cooperative play aren’t defined by winners &amp; losers, right &amp; wrong, or haves &amp; have nots. Instead, cooperative play only requires a curious desire, leisure time &amp; basic resources to keep the experience going. Fantasy world-building &amp; table-top role playing games are an excellent example of cooperative play. What to expect from our time at the VMFA on November 20th @ 1pmWe will be using the VMFA as inspiration for imagining a mysterious manor, the surrounding village, and interesting villagers. A questionnaire designed to spark our imaginations &amp; guide us through the world building process will be provided. I plan for us to enjoy the museum from 1pm - 2:30pm.Afterwards, we will reconvene at another location (to be determined on attendance) to share our answers to the questionnaire, vote on which ideas should populate our shared world and hold a moment of gratitude.Starting the Cycle of Future GatheringsNovember’s in-person gathering is only the very beginning! In January we’ll reconvene to table-top role play our shared world.
