This topic will be divided into two separate sessions to allow time to develop the photographs taken in Session 1.
Participants are invited to join a group hike through the Bauer Unit of Guadalupe River State Park. This session draws on Trail Markers by artist Nancy Holt, which is an arrangement of photographs of all the trail markers Holt encountered during a walk in Dartmoor. She arranged the photographs, not in a consecutive manner, but in a way that leads the viewer’s mind and eyes through their own journey as they observe the photographs. Participants are encouraged to choose their own kind of “trail marker” to photograph throughout the walk. Completed rolls of film will be taken to be developed between the sessions. Assembly of the photos and a debrief will occur in Session 2 on 18 May.
Participants are invited to meet at our regular meeting location by 8:00AM to carpool to the park together, or are free to meet us at the park entrance by 8:30AM. The hike, though not strenuous, will be long in time and distance. Please bring your own lunch and plenty of water.
