The Lake Mahopac Rotary Club is extremely happy to announce it's line up of stars for their upcoming 10th Annual Rock & Soul Spectacular, taking place on Mother's Day Weekend, Friday, May 10, 2024 at the Mahopac High School Auditorium, starting 7 PM.

The Trammps began in Philadelphia in 1972 featuring vocalists Jimmy Ellis, Harold Doc Wade, Stanley Wade and Earl Young, traveling with as many as 11 members, culled from the ranks of the busiest and best musicians. Many of these musicians also played for Gamble and Huff’s Philly International and later for Vince Montana’s Salsoul Orchestra.

The Trammps’ first recording, Zing Went The Strings Of My Heart, a remarkable remake of a tune originally recorded by Judy Garland in 1943, was recorded at the legendary Sigma Sound Studios in 1972 and was a bona fide chart hit, reaching #17 on the R & B chart and # 64 on the pop charts that summer.

Within the next few years, Buddha Records recorded several of The Trammps’ hits, including Hold Back The Night, which reached #40 on the pop charts and #10 on the R & B charts and Where Do We Go From here, reaching #44 on the R & B charts in 1974. In mid-1975, The Trammps became one of Atlantic Records hottest Disco recording acts. Their first album with Atlantic yielded tracts Hooked For Life and Where The Happy People Go, which became their biggest pop hit to date reaching #27 and continues to rank as one of the most recognizable songs of its era. Other Trammps hits on Atlantic included, Disco Party, Body Contact, I Feel Like I’ve Been Livin’ (On The Dark Side Of The Moon), The Night The Lights Went Out and Soul Bones, which features a harmonica solo by Stevie Wonder.

The pinnacle of The Trammps career was their Atlantic sound track, Disco Inferno. In 1977 Disco Inferno was the hottest song on the International Disco scene and the group was recognized as the best performing group by one of New York’s most popular clubs, 2001 Space Odyssey, the location for the motion picture, Saturday Night Fever. The soundtrack for the movie, which included Disco Inferno, was the industry’s biggest selling alum to date and won The Trammps a Grammy Award in 1979.

Bobby Wilson, son of legendary R&B/Soul singer Jackie Wilson, shares the same amazing traits and talents of his father. Many say Jackie Wilson's legacy lives on through Bobby. His adoring fans have dubbed him ‘Mr. Entertainment’ from his natural ability to entertain and bring every crowd to their feet. Bobby is also a three-time Grammy Balloted Artist with his latest CD, "It's About Time", and four Top 10 hits that packed #10 on the Adult Contemporary Charts. Whether performing Jackie’s hits or Motown favorites, “what you’re going to see is Bobby Wilson giving you all he’s got on stage,” the singer says, “And my dad’s going to show himself, you’re going to hear him and you’re going to see him … I feel my dad around me a lot,” a presence, he added, that’s felt by his audience during every show.

The Chiclettes from The Supremes to Chaka Khan, Lesley Gore to Donna Summer, Aretha Franklin to The Pointer Sisters… The Chiclettes (with The Coda Band) will get you moving with their high energy tribute to female artists through the decades! Performing hit after hit, they remind us of the remarkable contributions these artists made to pop music through the years. They have shared the stage with many Rock & Roll Hall of Famers, and also use their harmony talents to back up artists like Little Anthony, Bobby Rydell, Eddie Holman, Darlene Love, Frankie Avalon, Bobby Wilson & more. They have appeared on NBC, PIX, QED TV & CBS radio in addition to venues of all types & sizes, and social media events around the country. They are also repeat performers on the Time/Life© sponsored Malt Shop Memories Cruise yearly. Wherever they perform, the combination of energetic talent and live renderings of some of the greatest songs ever recorded always leaves a lasting impression.

Richie Santa is an Elvis Tribute Artist based in New Jersey. His show focuses on the Vegas/Jumpsuit years of Elvis' career. Singing and entertaining for many years, Richie found his passion when he started portraying Elvis and never looked back. In 2019 he was inducted into the ETA Hall of Fame, an honor he cherishes. Richie is now in his 15th year and he continues to give his all and do his part in keeping the Elvis legacy alive and well. There was only one Elvis, he lit the candle, and as a tribute artist, Richie carries the torch for the greatest entertainer to ever grace a stage.
