About this event

  • 2 hours 30 minutes

Join the Housatonic Valley Association and our Still Rivers Connection Program for a morning removing aquatic invasive species as part of a restoration effort at Lake Kenosia. All work will take place from kayaks or canoes. The group will meet at 8:30 am. Participants will be trained in invasive species removal, and we will wrap up the event by 11 am. Participants will receive an email from Julia Rogers, HVA's Senior Land Protection Manager (jrogers@hvatoday.org) before the event with meeting location, logistics and details. HVA reserves the right to cancel the event if needed.

Some boats (two-person canoes) can be reserved, - see check-out for reserving a canoe. If coming alone, participants will be matched with another attendee. If providing your own boat, particpants must provide boat, paddle, and personal flotation devices (PFD). PFDs must be worn at all times during the paddle.

NOTE: Participants should bring water, snacks, sunscreen, and bug spray. Participants must choose appropriate clothing dependent on temperature (no cotton) and must be prepared for cold water.
