About this event

Support groups are appropriate for many common lactation challenges or concerns including: assistance with latch and position, sore nipples, plugged ducts, being sure baby is getting enough, establishing a good milk supply, pumping, returning to work, etc. We utilize a sensitive scale to weigh babies before and after feeds to determine intake.

Support groups are NOT appropriate for complex lactation or medical situations. These are best served by a detailed home visit with ongoing support. To find an IBCLC to work with privately, please use these resources:

The Lactation Learning Collective is founded by Allison Walsh, LaShanda Dandrich and Patricia McGuire all IBCLCs here in NYC.

Collectively they have over 40 years of lactation experience between them. They have worked with families all over the New York City area in  all socioeconomic backgrounds  doing in home visits, working in many hospitals around New York as well as facilitating breastfeeding support groups.

Their passions are assisting families to achieve their personal breastfeeding goals as well as mentoring other individuals looking to enter the lactation profession.

And thus the Lactation Learning Collective was born.

The LLC aims to offer Lactation Guidance Groups all over NYC. At each group will consist of families looking for guidance for their lactation and infant feeding goals. As well as individuals (mentees) that will shadow the IBCLC to gain knowledge about the lactation profession.
