Sustainability in Action: Programs & Practices will highlight innovative and practical approaches to environmental programming in libraries. Maria Anna Rafac (Sustainability Coordinator, Joliet Junior College) will share strategies for actionable events such as Repair Cafés and "Bring Your Own" programs. Liz Kirchhoff (Adult Services Librarian, Barrington Area Library) will present on engaging community programming with seed libraries and community gardens. Christine Poreba (Environmental & Sustainability Specialist, Oak Park Public Library) will explore collaborations with local “green” organizations to educate on sustainable everyday practices. This event offers inspiration and achievable strategies for any library aiming to create programs with a positive environmental impact.
