In 2014, the Chinese government started a new national campaign for equal elementary education, but at the same time strengthened the residential registration system to segregate the rural and urban areas. On the one hand, I’m curious about how the policies carry through when they conflict with each other. On the other hand, elementary school education in China puts young children under unbearable pressure, which is what I’ve been through and suffered from. I want to review the education I got in China as an adult to find out what influence it had on me and is still having on children from different backgrounds.

Several days before the College Entrance Exam, high school teacher Chen Jun is informed by An, the school’s top student Lee's sister, that their father was killed in a mining accident. Thinking about the student's future, as well as pressured by the school principal and his family, Chen Jun struggles with whether he should tell Lee the news.  
 
Sheep Dotting Hillsides （羊兒滿山坡） by Huaqing Jin

Two years have passed and the poverty alleviation funds have not yet to be received. Most of the villagers left except Lao Ma, the village secretary, who clings to his last hope and remains in the desolate village. When government officials come for an inspection, Lao Ma had no choice but to ‘participate’ in a series of shocking and infuriating farces in the hope of obtaining the funds. 
 
Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian. Contains some adult and Violent material. Parents are urged to learn more about the film before taking their young children with them.
Love After Time（愛在世界末日） by Tsung-han Tsai
15' / Taiwan/ 15mins/US Premiere/Narrative Short On a nuclear-ravaged island, an Enforcer, ordered to keep the enslaved citizens under control, chases a mutant woman who steals food under his watch. Following the woman to a secret refuge, his innermost temptation is excited by her cockroaches...Pent-up desire and fear are exposed and released. 
 
No Sad（可樂）by Xiaochen Sun  
30' / China &amp; South Korea/ North America Premiere/ Narrative Short
Chinese Lu Song goes alone to Korea, looking for Mr. Lee, his brother-in-law he has never seen. Lu Song and Kim, an old friend, have some fun.They sink in their memory. Lu Song finds Li Yan, his niece-in-law, but the girl just lost her love. Li Yan brings Lu Song to a fishing village, they find Mr. Lee there, and Lu Song tells him something sad. Three people sitting in silence, thinking about something, only eating is real.
