UOTA’s Sacred Path SpiritGroup invites all to walk the UOTA labyrinth on World Labyrinth Day, Saturday, May 3. We’ll meet in the courtyard at 12:30 p.m. UOTA guest musician Rebecca Abraxas will offer an opening song, which will be followed by a prayer offered by Prayer Chaplain Penny Ware, LUT. As we walk the seven-circuit, Chartres-style labyrinth, Rebecca will hold meditative space with a frame drum, one of the most ancient musical instruments.
World Labyrinth Day is an annual event founded by The Labyrinth Society as a walking meditation for world peace and celebration of the labyrinth experience. Every year on the first Saturday in May, at 1:00 p.m. local time, thousands of people around the world “Walk as One at 1” to create a rolling wave of peaceful energy across the globe.
