Echoing the grand style and polished beauty of La Belle Epoque, La Maison Rose is a new monthly burlesque show at Franky Bradley’s produced and headlined by University of the Arts graduate and West Philly’s own Lelu Lenore. Hailed as the Burlesque Ballerina of Philadelphia, Lenore is an international award winning artist. With her monthly show she honors the glamorous pageantry and rigorous dancing of classic burlesque, while using engaging hosts and charming audience participation to make the entire experience of La Maison Rose one of immersion and joy. In each La Maison Rose, Lenore is joined by Artist-in-Residence Renée Rebelle, veteran kitten Veronica Vicious and chanteuse hostess Alyson Rodriguez Orenstein. Every show is the third Thursday of the month, at Franky Bradley’s in Philadelphia, doors at 9:30 and show at 10.As the Philadelphia burlesque scene continues to push the boundaries and definitions of the art form itself, reinventing and reimagining performance, La Maison Rose holds to the roots of classic burlesque in a way that doesn’t seek to compete with alternate shows, but rather to ground the entire concept of burlesque. Able to draw from a host of veteran as well as up-and-coming performers La Maison Rose shines with ornate costumes, meticulously choreographed performances set to note perfect music, and simmers with a sultry sensuality that threatens to boil over before even a single piece of clothing peels away. Now every third Thursday of the month at Franky Bradley’s, La Maison Rose honors the strongest and sexiest elements of burlesque’s past, while adding to its continued future.
