“One of the most compassionate and uplifting young voices in Nashville today.” – Ann Powers/ NPR Music’s World Cafe

Kyshona lends her voice and music to those who feel silenced, forgotten or alone. She began her career as a music therapist, writing her first songs with students and inmates under her care. This inspired her to write independently, which led her to the Nashville creative community. Her roots, rock, R&B, and folk originals have drawn praise from Rolling Stone, NPR, Billboard and CMT. Kyshona’s new project, LEGACY, focuses on family. More than a collection of compelling songs, Kyshona shares her research process in hopes of connecting fans with resources that help Black Americans trace their ancestry and collect their stories.
