Folk duo Kyra and Tully are pleased to release their latest EP, Songs for the Universe. Written and recorded in Prince Edward County from 2021 through 2024, (except On the Farm written 2018) the album is the couple’s sixth studio release. Co-produced by David James Allen and mastered by Martin Davis Kinack, Songs for the Universe features new music inspired by the beauty of nature, exploring how it shapes and reflects the human experience.
These songs delve into the unknown possibilities in the future of humanity, meditating on the hard but rewarding work ahead of us all to move from hopelessness towards a future with light, love, truth and intrinsic dignity
Songs for the Universe is a dynamic production that layers thoughts, sounds, and emotions with wonder and thankfulness. The album is a diverse collection of songs created by a husband-and-wife duo exploring the world around them with heartfelt words set to roots and pop melodies.
Songs for the Universe features the single Deer in the Headlights (release date: February 20, 2025), which includes contributing vocals from singer-songwriter Justin Rutledge.
They will be Joined by Gardens (New moniker of singer songwriter Brendan Scott Friel)
Brendan Scott Friel is a solo acoustic singer songwriter from Windsor, Ontario Canada. Raised on Celtic folk and classic songwriters like James Taylor and Bruce Springsteen, his love to storytelling through song can be seen throughout his work.
Pictons own David James Allen will also be performing.
David James Allen has been releasing music for more than a decade, but over the past five years—after moving eastward from Toronto to the wilds of Prince Edward County—he has been startlingly prolific. Beginning with 2017’s When The Demons Come and carrying on through 2020’s Radiations and the following year’s The Architect, Allen has been steadily amassing a remarkable body of work that stands alongside those of any of his Canadian contemporaries.
