Assistant Area Port Director – Timmothy Pflug

Mr. Timmothy Pflug currently serves as an Assistant Area Port Director at the Area Port of Charleston where he oversees all aspects of Tactical Operations to include intelligence and targeting processes as well as operations at the ports of Greenville and Columbia, South Carolina.

Mr. Pflug began his federal career in 2003 as a U.S. Customs Inspector in San Luis, Arizona and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

Mr. Pflug has held a variety of key management positions with CBP including Acting Port Director, Toledo-Sandusky, Ohio; Chief CBP Officer, Area Port of Cleveland; Port Director, Freeport, Bahamas Preclearance, and most recently served as the Port Director for Aruba Preclearance operations from 2018 through 2022.

In these roles, Mr. Pflug has overseen all aspects of CBP operations to include air and sea passenger processing, seaport and commercial cargo, commercial and general aviation processing, tactical operations, and worked on multiple specialized projects to include the planning and execution of security for National Special Security Events, representing the agency as a Public Affairs Liaison, and implementing the first containerized cargo seaport on the Great Lakes.
