“Hi Friends:
For over a decade, I hosted an annual listening-room style house concert at my home around our annual Jazz Fest performance in New Orleans. It was a way to connect with each other and share the songs in a much more personal way, outside of our bigger band festival show on the fairgrounds.
The last few years have changed a lot of how we go about doing things. The year before last, I decided to adapt the house show into something equally as special, but different.
We’re going to church.
Joined by Radio Bird String Quartet (who’s members just won a GRAMMY), we will rally cinematic reimaginings of familiar tunes and new ones yet to be released.
It’s a one-night-only-in-the-moment kind of thing.
The church is filled with history, spirit and resonance that only centuries of living can do a space.
Can’t wait to join you to be a part of that living history on May 1st.
Music has always been my favorite way of communion, and I’m so grateful we get to share these moments together again.
