This talk takes us from 1830s 'miasma' to the birth of the NHS. The accompanying exhibition illustrates the many issues which were overcome.

<p>For 150 years Bradford has been a leader in developing public health initiatives from basic sanitation to the earliest welfare organisations. Many of those at the forefront were Bradford born-and-bred pioneers but a great influx of the brightest and best scientific brains found plenty of challenges in our City!</p>
