Learn basic hand knitting skills through live demos and guided practice.

Explore what makes knitwear special—its texture, stretch, and how it supports sustainability.
Understand the difference between knits and wovens with real fabric samples you can touch and compare.

Yarn and needles will be provided. Please bring a pencil and sketchbook.

You’ll have fun, meet others, and hear stories and tips from Cristina and Amanda’s careers in the fashion industry.

C. Hernandez Studio helps emerging and established brands develop sweaters and cut-and-sew knits through expert design, development, and production support.

Thomé Studio is a Brooklyn-based knitwear studio that partners with brands and designers to create intentional, innovative knitwear through hands-on design and development.

We are a New York City-based entrepreneurship and workforce development program that trains and supports women from low-income and immigrant communities to launch fashion careers and businesses. By learning the standard techniques and ethical business practices of the fashion industry, our participants professionalize their sewing and design skills, overcome barriers to employment, and ultimately, change the economics of the industry.
