The Kittery Community Market, nestled in the heart of Kittery, Maine, stands as a beacon of support for local agriculture and small businesses. As a nonprofit farmers market, we proudly operate every Sunday, from June through November, offering a dynamic platform that showcases the offerings of over 70 local farms, small businesses, artisans, and food vendors. With a consistent minimum of 35 vendors participating each week, our market buzzes with activity and diversity.
Beyond merely facilitating commerce, our market serves as a vibrant community hub, offering live music, engaging children's activities, and hosting special nonprofit guests. It's a place where connections are made, and causes are supported.
One of the hallmark features of our market is the array of voucher programs offered to address food insecurity while bolstering sales for our vendors. These initiatives include the Kid's Power of Produce Program, which grants each child entering the market a $2 voucher for purchasing produce. Additionally, we proudly accept SNAP/EBT payments and match every dollar spent with a Maine Harvest Bucks voucher for produce. Our commitment extends to honoring veterans and active duty service members through Vouchers for Veterans with $20 in vouchers given every Sunday in September, as well as providing $25 in Bumper Crop market vouchers to WIC and SNAP customers their first visit of the season. We also extend assistance to those in immediate need through donations of Bumper Crop vouchers.
