About this event

  • 7 days 3 hours

The kitchen is the heart of one’s home, and this two-part workshop will cover everything you need to know to design a kitchen that fits your lifestyle. In Part 1 (June 8), we examine cabinets and countertops—materials, styles, and price ranges. Participants may submit floor plans of their individual projects, and several will be examined in greater detail as time allows. In Part 2 (June 15), we start with a basic floor plan and cover the many variables that must be considered: appliance standards, door and window openings, storage needs, and more.

Instructors Jimmy Douglass and Dan Lerch are a kitchen designers at Boston Building Resources. jimmy has more than 30 years of experience as a home improvement contractor. Dan's expertise in color theory, printmaking methods, and spatial composition has helped him encourage clients to be confident in their creativity and ability to make the most out of their space.
